This plant growth took one year, you will be amazed how quickly gutters block up. The blockage had caused water to run over the wood cladding which caused rot. This was an expensive lesson for the customer, preventative annual gutter clearing will always be more cost effective and less disruptive than a large repair bill from a builder. To find out if we can help you go to our services page and get in touch with us.

Many customers ask how to you end up with a lawn growing in their homes gutters? The answer, birds drop seeds and some seedlings are carried in the wind. Its a haven for plant growth, plenty of food coming in the form of compost created by rotting plant debris, plus a constant supply of water from the rain gutters. Perfect!

You can stop this unintended garden by making sure you clear the gutters on your property at least once a year.

Gutter Maintenance & Property Insurance - Are you covered?

Tips & AdvicePosted by Richard Harris Sat, January 09, 2016 11:24:20

Am I covered for water damage caused by blocked gutters?

When you take out Property Insurance, if you don’t check the finer details of the policy you’re buying, you could be in for a rude awakening.

It’s fairly common for people to believe that they’re fully covered for the items involved in an insurance claim, only to find that due to ‘exclusions’ in their policy, they’re actually not.

What’s the definition of exclusions?

Exclusions, in relation to insurance policies, are clauses inserted into the terms of a policy which state what items, or events, are not included in the cover provided.

Always read the small print

Poor property maintenance – Maintaining your home is an important part of property ownership. If your roof starts to leak for no other reason than you’ve never cleaned the guttering or allowed tiles to work lose over the years, it’s hardly fair to expect your insurer to stump up for the repair work.

Blocked Gutter Guards

Tips & AdvicePosted by Richard Harris Tue, December 29, 2015 00:59:31
One good reason not to fit gutters guards, we often come across this problem where a customer has invested in gutter guards only to find out a few years later they need to be removed as the weeds have grown through the grill. The weight of all the debris was starting to distort the gutter runs, the customer requested not to reinstall the guards as the problem would return. Luckily Azurevac was able to resolve the issue and long term damage to the guttering has been minimised.
